Getting Started

Overview

Monitor how often AI systems like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini cite your brand and competitors. Track specific queries relevant to your business, see who's getting cited (and who's not), monitor sentiment trends, and identify opportunities where you can capture AI attention. This is your command center for understanding your AI search visibility.

What is AI Visibility Tracking?

AI Visibility Tracking monitors how often AI systems like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity mention your brand when people ask questions. It's like SEO monitoring — but for AI instead of Google.

When someone asks ChatGPT "What's the best lead generation tool?" — does it recommend you? This dashboard tells you.

Getting Started

Step 1: Add Your Brand

Before tracking anything, you need to tell us which brand you're monitoring.

  1. Navigate to Tracking in the left sidebar (or press 2 on your keyboard)

  2. You'll see a "Manage Tracked Brands" section if no brand is set up

  3. Enter your Domain (e.g., leadspot.io)

  4. Enter your Company Name (e.g., Leadspot)

  5. Click Add Brand

Important: You can only track one brand per account. To track a different brand, delete the current one first by clicking the trash icon next to it.

Once added, your brand appears at the top of the dashboard with its favicon, confirming tracking is active.

Step 2: Add Prompts to Track

Prompts are the questions you want to monitor. Think: what would your ideal customer ask an AI?

Adding prompts individually:

  1. Scroll down to the Tracked Prompts section

  2. Type a prompt in the input field (e.g., "What is the best B2B lead generation tool?")

  3. Press Enter or click Add

Adding prompts in bulk:

  1. Click the Bulk Add button next to the input field

  2. Paste a list of prompts (one per line)

  3. Click Add All

Pro tip: Your plan determines how many prompts you can track:

  • Free: 10 prompts

  • Essentials: 25 prompts

  • Starter: 25 prompts

  • Pro: 100 prompts

Step 3: Choose Which AI Models to Track

By default, Perplexity is enabled. You can enable or disable any of the three supported AI models:

  1. In the Tracked Prompts section, find the "Tracked models:" row

  2. Toggle each AI model on or off:

    • Perplexity

    • ChatGPT

    • Gemini

Each enabled model will be queried for every prompt during scans. More models = more comprehensive data, but also more data to review.

Step 4: Wait for Your First Scan

Scans run automatically every other day. You'll see a countdown badge showing when the next scan is scheduled (e.g., "Next scan in 14h 32m").

After your first scan completes:

  • The Prompt Tracking chart will show your first data point

  • The Your Mentions section will list any citations found

  • The Industry Ranking will show which competitors are being cited

What Happens During a Scan?

  1. Each of your tracked prompts is sent to each enabled AI model

  2. The AI response is analyzed for mentions of your brand

  3. Competitor domains mentioned are also recorded

  4. Results are stored for trend tracking

Quick Reference: Navigating the Dashboard

  • Prompt Tracking Chart — Top left, shows trends over time

  • Brand Sentiment — Top right, shows how positively AI talks about you

  • Your Mentions — Middle left, lists recent citations of your brand

  • Industry Ranking — Middle right, shows competitor share of voice

  • Tracked Prompts — Bottom, manage your prompt list

Pro Tips

  • Start with 10-15 prompts that your customers actually ask

  • Include prompts where you know competitors are strong — find out who's winning

  • Don't add vague prompts like "marketing" — be specific: "best B2B marketing automation tools for startups"

  • Check the View Latest Run button after each scan to see detailed results

  • Click the help icon (?) at any time to open the onboarding guide
